Will i move house. First off, mrs slopes had massive arse on about things she didnt want to take to the new house, which pickfords then ignored and took anyway, next she was mardy because i had to go out, then pickfords broke some stuff, virgin have only just reconnected me to the internet, and even though they said i would be fine for cable broadband, they waited till i mobed in then told me iwasnt in a cable area. On top of that, i still have about five million boxes of crap to unpack and put away, nearly two weeks after moving in. Arrgghhhhhh i hate moving, i need a beer. Oh, i almost forgot, the cat didnt take to kindly to the move and attacked me last night, i now have a scratch mark right down my forehead from hair line to eyebrow, i look like i have a zip on my forehead, little sod.

P.S. did anyone miss me while i was away? Thought not.

Cats never take it well, do they? Probably as stressed out as you were.

Hire a skip before the move - chuck all the unwanted junk into it. You know it makes sense.

It's not quite 5 million boxes. But there's quite a few stacked up in one of the spare bedrooms. It's a case of finding places for things more than anything else, and idleness.

I actually suspect that your OH didn't appreciate being stuffed in to the cat box - couldn't you at least have put her in the passenger seat of your car?

I don't dump anything in my loft. Never did, never will- that's what skips are for. Merely pointed out (in another thread) that older people tend to use lofts as their dumping grounds. All my unwanted junk gets binned. So there tongue out

Nope, all the ste i didnt want either went into the bin, or down to the tip. My point was, mrs slopes put stuff aside, told the team leader from pickfords she didnt want it going, and the silly still took it. Oh, and it wasnt mrs slopes i put in the cat box, but on reflection i wish i had some times, the dozy mare

Moving house is one of the most stressful things I have ever done.

But you DO get better at it. Learn how much help to hire and so on...

Bizarrely it took me YEARS to settle into my current house. Hated it for the first two or three. We genuinely thought we were going to have to move...

Buy the cat a load of chicken meat, can of fish + more catnip mice than it knows what to do with. It's just unsettled. Box + old fleece or jumper + radiator = happy cat.

We get the keys to our new house tomorrow, my wife is going mental and cleaning everything after packing obsessively.
Today I went back to work offshore, where it's nice and quiet and I don't need to carry any more boxes (they let us put stuff in the garage this week so everything that will fit in the X5 has been moved).
My wife will supervise the movers tomorrow morning and tell me how she get's on.

Not a popular decision, but I feel leaving was the best thing I could do!

I've still got a couple of boxes from when I moved in nearly 4 years ago, and when I visited my parents over christmas they gave me the last 2 boxes of my stuff that have been in thier loft since they moved in 1993
