My eldest came back from his school trip with a bagful of gifts. His mum got some Italian chocolates and her favourite coffee, his siblings a bucketful of sweets and I got €1 tin of Mentos "Extra Strong Mint" from a Luxembourg service station, a grin and pat "because I need to improve on my breath".

A mate of mine bought me a Bayern kit last time Arsenal got thrashed 5-1..........

As a 31 one year old lego fan, id love that, even the smaller lego sets are really nice these days

For one of Mrs MikeVeal's christmas pressies I bought and wrapped some a pack of M&S carrot cake mixture, and wrote on the tag "Well, what are you waiting for? Christmas?"

Mrs MikeVeal can't abide carrot cake, but it's my favourite. biggrin

Sounds reasonable if she's his wife...

He's a good mate then because they're fking expensive! My boys ask me to get them one every time I go over to Munich - they're like £60 for just a top, I think?

In my family there has always been a bit of a thing for doing silly/jokey presents alongside the actual gift you are giving this person, stemming from my dad, so its always common in my family. I've continued this now I am married

When I got back from having bought my wife's Christmas presents, and having hidden them all out of the way and so forth, I let her know that I had bought her some painkillers, as she had been a little unwell and we had run out.

In her usual manner she said "That's not a Christmas present though!"

And so I thought to myself "Yes it is!" and duly wrapped up the second packet for her to open on Christmas morning. She was not impressed.

I bought my Cousin's man a chocolate teapot in this year's secret Santa. If he can't get that message then he's thicker than I thought! I was just annoyed I wasn't there to his face!
