There's a large public field/dog walking area/footy pitches behind our house, .

Just looked out the office window and there's a couple of horses being ridden across it.

I don't care/mind, but as pure curiosity, what are the laws on where you can ride a horse?

For example I'm assuming if I drove my car across it, I'd be committing some kind of offense.

Don't think you can ride on motorways or the Ripple road flyover on the A13

On public rights of way, it has to be a Bridleway, Byway or RUPP, not a footpath. On other public places I'd assume local bylaws apply. On private land it's up to the landowner.

You're also not allowed the ride them through Military bases, substations, oil refineries, or lakes.

I think it's illegal to ride them across the North Sea to Norway. I'll have to check.

Mounting them from the rear is frowned upon.

Most horses prefer you to sit on their back.

You've got to push the envelope.

RUPP's haven't existed since 2000 when they all became reclassifed as restricted byways, more's the shame.

People seem to turn a blind eye to people being tts on horses, you only have to look at a mini moto though and people are reporting you for dangerous riding.

Have you ridden many Stallions?

Is it only the penetrative act that's illegal in the UK? Have fun.

Exactly none.

I've clearly led a very sheltered life compared to you!

You're such a wordly lady.

The central reservations of the suburban dual carriageways in Birmingham often have signs on specifically prohibiting the riding of horses. I wonder what other irrelevant things are banned on them?
