Looking at the archive date, its a year today (6/4/2009) since the splitting of the Pie and Piston yikes

I know it caused a lot of friction at the time and some members vanished! But after a year things have settled down at bit..

So how is the new format shaping up? Anyone miss the old format or is this one better?

I bet 50p that this will get moved laugh

Don't see a problem, all you do is go "Gassing Station" > "Pie and Piston"..

It's just the same!

It's still easier to complain though. hehe

Yep. I quite often miss threads as they are moved to another sub-forum.

How do you miss them? Just click on pie and piston and it shows all the new sub forums.

Oh sorry, is this just one of those threads for those who like complaining about stuff?

Having too many subforums never works. PH is a great example of this

Am I the only person who never, ever looks in forums, and just clicks on "What's New"?

I have all the forum subjects I am interested in showing on 'My Stuff' but I feel some threads don't get the same exposure they would have got pre-split, resulting in (in my opinion) less access to serious advice when it is required and less hillarity from the randomness posted.

Nope. That's what I do as well. But i've filtered the forums so I only see the ones I'm interested in.

It's made no difference to me at all.

Why was it done in the first place?

Indeed. I usually have a look at 'My Stuff', followed by 'Last 3 hours', all filtered by my selection of forae/ums.

I wasn't coming on here as much Pre Split but I do remember it, I remember it used to move very very quickly

I kinda like the new layout, I think there are some sub-forums that could go or be combined but I think others have become very relevant forums in their own right

No, I do this. And then from time to time go into the individual forums and see how much interesting stuff I have missed.

It gave the Watch people their own forum.

This, in my eyes, is worth any amount of hassle incurred as a result of the change...
