Hi, I was wondering what mod people do to the exhaust system if any, i don't want to highly modify my car, but ixam looking to get a bit more from my exhaust note in terms of character, currently I have a standard 410 with factory cat and backbox, does bypassing the 3rd cat make a noticable diffrence or do I need to buy a backbox.

I am struggling to understand what part of 410 exhaust you need to improve on. In stock it is epic.

If it is just more noise then suggest you take the box off but it will not sound better, it will sound terrible just louder. Plus your neighbours will hate you.

Even early Evoras were over legal noise levels leaving the factory, the valved early models are loud. The 400 on are taking the mickey loud, I've never seen anyone asking for more before...

I suspect the constabulary would start taking notice if you do more

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think that UK spec cars had the 3rd cat. That was a US addition I thought.

The cars have a cat per bank, and no downstream cat.

Either way, the default answer is 2ubular exhausts: https://www.2bular.com/evora-400

Hi, it's not the noise level, more cracks and pops, don't get me wrong, i love the sound while accelerating, just more when I change down gear or come off the throttle. I'm really happy with it as it is, but thought id ask.

If i remember correctly, the early cars did have the 3rd cat but it was removed in later production as emission levels are OK without it (don't know when that happened). My 2010 n/a did have one but it's been removed (emissions are well within limits) and with the original Lotus sport back box it's perfectly loud enough (but has met the noise requirements for Castle Combe at 95dB). Lots of nice pops and burbles, weirdly especially in 'sport' mode. If you still have a 3rd cat, I'd certainly try removing it! Later cars are incredibly loud, sound amazing but you then have loads of hassle to get onto track.
