PH Day Out: New Date For BLOODHOUND Visit
Meet the world's fastest man and the team behind the
1,000 mph BLOODHOUND SSC
On Sunday 28th November, the BLOODHOUND Technical Centre (AKA the Dog House) will open its doors exclusively to 40 PistonHeads readers, giving you an amazing chance to hob-nob with the world's fastest man, meet the team behind the car - and most importantly do your bit to support the team's quest for a new 1000mph+ record in 2012.
'Doing your bit' means coughing up a paltry £30 for the privilege of getting your name on our exclusive list of event attendees. Your contribution will go straight into the BLOODHOUND record attempt biscuit tin/kitty, thus allowing you to walk taller in the knowledge you've done a very good thing - and hopefully feel extra smug when the guys bring back the record for Britain.
In case you were wondering, they need £12m to get the car to the desert in the Summer of 2012, and so far there's only about £4m in the bank. (Otherwise they'd be delighted to show you around for free, obviously!)
Still, £30 for a 'money can't buy' opportunity like this sounds like great value to us - so hopefully we'll see you there.
To make it even more painless, they've even set up a Paypal 'buy it now' link for tickets!
Agenda:
Doors open at 09.45 for coffee and biscuits. The event kicks off at 10:00 and wraps at 13:00. The day will consist of talks by members of the BLOODHOUND team and opportunity to see the 44ft model of the car.

LOL at the wife joke...

ETA. Bimmer's definitely dead. I'll check road conditions before I leave home in the TVR.
I'm now a doubtful.

ETA. Worse than I thought. Didn't fancy very icy roads anyway but I can't even get in the fecking thing. Doors and locks were frozen but managed to get in via passenger door so thought I'd have a crack at it. Fired up no problem but then I couldn't get the door to shut. Darn lock appears to be frozen so it's now tied up with string.

Hope you have a better day than me.
All of them amazing people, all very humble about their unique gifts that will ultimately lead to their success, and truly an inspiration to all, including my 8 year old son who was blown away by the whole day.
His name is now on the tail of the car forever more, he has more autographs than he knows what to do with, and this band of men have made me feel proud to be British again.
However, the icing on the cake was the special guest who arrived much later for a private viewing, and we were allowed to stay behind to see him.
Seeing the look on my son's face as he came face to face with NEIL ARMSTRONG was worth any money, let alone the tiny amount that PH charged to give my son and I a once in a lifetime experience.
Well done PH, and good luck to all involved in the Bloodhound project.
Ruttboy
Doesn't detract from an amazing day though. Ended up with an armful of merch and total admiration for the calm determination of all these amazing people. It's not a case of 'if', it's a case of 'we solve these problems, then go and drive at 1000 mph'.
You are f
king joking, right?I don't believe it. We left when we thought it was getting near the end too, on account that my poor girlfriend was genuinely ice cold.
And then Neil Armstrong tips up.
Well, if I wanted a better illustration of my bloody luck, I couldn't find one.
Did he chat to everyone? Sign autographs and that?
I'm genuinely gutted. And a bit annoyed for them not telling us that a special guest would be arriving.
