I used to have a VW Golf and use to to VAG-COM diagnostic software to find, clear faults, reset service lights, etc. The software was free and the cable only cost me a few pound.

Now i have a 2002 3 series and im looking for a good free obd2 software. I already have a bluetooth odb2 adapter, just looking for decent software now.

I have found a list here, http://www.obdspy.com/Download/index.php

Has anyone used any of them? Any good?

Hi
I have read about the INPA software that can be downloaded, which can be better than the OBD2

Try this link, although to the 'z roadster' forum can be found on various other bmw forums

Cheers for the link. But that piece of software seems really complicated. I'm after a relatively simple one where I can scan and clear codes.

I'm in the process of looking for some OBD2 software as well. Try this one - OBD-2

Further to this, I've found a good one, paid for unfortunately, but the only one I've seen that can show MPG. The name is Touch Scan, I've beeing trying it on a two week licence they give you. I use an ELM327 usb connector with an IBM T42 Thinkpad.
If anyone finds a free one with mpg as a function, I's be interested.
