Comfy tyres, low pro's
Discussion
I have a Renault clio 172 cup. It's very good at being a mental little rocket but not so good at cruising around the city. I don't really know why I bought a cup. I'm not really a racer, But i liked the colour and it looks nicer than the standard sport model.
Anyway. The tyres are all coming to the end of their lives. They're 195 45 16 pireli p-zero nero's. I wont be replacing with the same as i'm not convinced on the wet grip capabilities if i'm honest, and having no ABS means needing confidence in the tyres.
I was just having a think and wondered if there was a tyre without such a strong tyre wall. Prehaps built slightly more for comfort than track thrash. Are the P-zero's renowned for being harsh? I cant really compare as it came with the tyres fitted.
What recomendations would you give for a tyre for what I need. (nice wet grip, comfortable ride).
I realize its never going to be a cruiser, but on my old mk1 golf I was often suprised at the different characteristics of tyres and the effect on the feel.

Good wet grip... comfortable... I think we've found the thread for the Uniroyal Rainsport 2, available in your size too.

Michelin Energy Saver X, they are really quiet and comfy and low noise emission and apparently give 12% saving on fuel.
Unfortunately the Energy Saver doesn't have what you would call stunning wet grip.Edited by jon- on Wednesday 24th November 15:27

Not sure about in practice though.
Pirelli's P Zero Nero's come as standard on the Fiesta ST and we're really crap in the wet.
I replaced them with Yokohama Parada Spec 2 which are a lot better in the wet but not quite as good as the Pirelli in the dry.
One other noticeable thing with the Yokohama's are there's a noticeable road noise reduction.
