Dealer discounts on used cars
Discussion
This follows on from my other thread:

We all know what sort of discounts dealers give on new cars, what about used?
I'm looking for a daily driver and due to continuing poverty only have around 2k to spend, so am looking at cars in the 2,200 to 2,500 range, am I being realistic?

I'd say knocking £200 off a £2000 would be about right. £500 might be pushing it a bit.
If you've got a p/x, don't forget the figure you're looking at is the 'cost to change'. If you get a good valuation on your p/x, don't expect much knocked off the car you're buying.
And for £2K, you'll probably get better value buying privately, if possible.

If its advertised at a sensible price (ie not got an extra few hundred £££ on top to allow for a part ex) then dont expect to get much off a £2k car.
If the car still needs its final prep prior to delivery eg the odd scuff, dent, maybe due a service etc you might get a lot more off by taking it as it is saves them having to do it.
