Just wanted to ask if anyone knows the exact law on towing trailers.

I have a trailer thats about 28ft. I bought the trailer off ebay and I think it's a a caravan chassis conversion with a flat wooden base, which we've built up with scaffolding. I can't imagine the whole thing weighing over 750kg so based on weight and the fact thats its unbraked, I should legally be able to tow it.

Only thing is the length - can I legally tow this trailer without a towing license.

Also, does the law say something about the chassis having a stamp that says the trailers over a certain weight. Assuming the chassis is an ex caravan trailer so the chassis is over 750kg and has that stamp, does the fact that it isn't over that weight now mean anything, or will police just accept that it's stamped and then proceed to prosecute.

Thanks
