Faith Restored!
Discussion
I had 2 wheels with locking wheel nuts I needed taking off (Bought the car recently and the seller couldnt find the nut).
VW quoted "about £150" to do it.
Several local garages wouldnt touch it/were too busy so I was getting desperate.
Stopped in at a tyre fitters on the industrial estate where I'd just seen a garage who were too busy.
Two great blokes came out and spent 20 mins sorting it out for me, all for "the price of a drink"
It was nice to have my faith restored. Great guys.
Can I plug this place? I'll definitely get my tyres there when I need any....its off the Botley Road in Oxford.

If it was a newish VW , when I lost (opps) the locking wheel nut on the mrs last polo i took it to the local VW dealers and the mechanic came out with a big box of all the keys available, just took in of for me no charge, I had to wait to order the replacement nuts though, just ordered wheel nuts as the mechanic said not worth replacing unless you have really special wheels

Mmhm hmm.We have a master set of them, but as with locking nuts.. They can break and when they do its hassle to try and replace it, luckily we still have a full set.
Usually just stick standard nuts on for the customer too, this way its free for them.. £30 for new locking nuts so most just go with the free option.

£150 is (attempted) daylight robbery! It only takes 2 minutes with a hammer and an old socket!
