Just had a renewal quote come through and my monthly premium has rocketed from £39 per month to £78 per month -WTF???

I have had no claims or accidents and have maximum NCD

Tried my previous insurers and they won't accept my car now without a tracker fitted - what is going on?

Looking at your profile, is that an Audi S3? Quite high on the stolen to order list probably - I know of Audis being nicked with keys from people's houses in the Bournemouth area!

Plus the fact that it is widely documented that insurance costs are rising for everyone at the moment due to the rising cost of personal injury claims and fraud.
The general increase is also higher if you are young.

Shop around!

In contrast, my renewal came in from Swift Insurance and was £330 fully comp on a D2 S8. Full NCB etc
I think it was even less than last year's premium albeit without breakdown and legal cover as I have that cover elsewhere. Strangely though when I checked for alternative quotes on comparison site, Swift's quote was more expensive than my renewal??
I will not dispute the quote that's for sure.

This is nothing new.

I NEVER expect any renewal quote to be competitive.

Most insurance companies give you a good deal to "hook you in" in the hope that you forget about it and just let it auto-renew a year later. I'm amazed of the number of people who get a deal once then just renew with the same people every year, when it goes up they just think "well, it's just normal price rises".

I search around every year and always pay the same or less.
