Sheffield to Manchester tomorrow morning?

Has it snowed badly in Manchester? I've got my winter tyres on but I can't help but feel that in the big wide world out there they'll be useless.
If people haven't got them on I'll could still be stuck for ages or be rear ended.
Should I bother?
