What would you choose?
For me I am going to buy the best one of either that my 3k will buy.In my opinion the Jag is lovely to look at inside and outside is very refined with loads of character and heritage. The Lexus is beautifully built, very refined and from what I have read extremely reliable.I personally intend to use it to commute in and whatever else the family needs but only totalling 8 or 10,000mls per year.

Hmm, that's a tough call.
I like the stuff inside the Lexus (iirc silly things like 2 memory seat positions) which make it rather useful, and I've only ever been in one once but it was a lovely comfy cruise.
But then I've been in XJ8s for a couple of weeks when I was chauffered to work and it was also very comfy and effortless.
They are both large, comfy and will drink like a fish........... So not really much in it IMHO.....I think really you need to drive both and see which one suits you best.

Head = Lexus, heart = Jaguar
Pretty much what I feel.I'm just a poor student/part time worker so LS400 was the only realistic route into RWD V8 ownership without the headache of worrying if the car would start in the morning.

Drove both and so nearly purchased a Lexus off a friend of mine but it missed that 'something'.
