Just had a new car delivered by a Main Dealer, and there's a plate transfer going through on it at the moment. We had previously agreed (in writing) that I was to retain ownership of that plate. The V5 I have has no new Reg written on the New Keeper supplement, but that's the only bit of the logbook I have.

I've been told that I will recieve the V5 for both my new car (with new Reg) and the old car (back on old Reg) to my home address.

Does this sound about right? It's all a bit up in the air and I don't want to lose my plate!

Cheers!

Yep, that sounds right. The V5 for your old car will be returned to you as it has your address on it. You hand this into the dealer upon receipt for him to process your old car to its new keeper (assuming it's been sold).
The V5 for your new car should arrive to you with your cherished number visible. Should take a couple of weeks to process.

Trust this helps
