Close one on the way to work this morning

So there we are, trundling down the A1 near Peterborough going 60ish, I'd just said to my mate in the passenger seat how the tt in lane 3 doing 50 (lanes 1 & 2 were empty at that time)is making other drivers have to go around him into lane 4 which was starting to look a little white. Anyway 1 mile further on a vehicle a couple of cars ahead of us brakes so anticipating it we slow as well. Quick look in mirror reveals Astra van doing about 75 in lane 4 fishtailing badly. I really thought he was going to hit us as there was nowhere for us to go, he hit the armco about 10 metres ahead of us, bounced into our path then went back into the armco as we missed him by inches.
