I'm in a bit of a pickle, I'm in the market for a second-hand high powered estate and a sweet Legacy twin turbo has finally popped on the radar. Should I take the plunge and grab it as soon as possible, or should I wait a month (and hope that it isn't sold in the interim) and try and knock the price down considering there's an extra year on the plate?

If it really is "the one" then just buy it now. Saves disapointment if it sells to someone else for the sake of £50 (if that...) because it's a month older.

ETA : Yes, VAT increase too so if it's from a dealer, get it now rather than later.

The market for 4wd estate cars will probably get stronger in the coming months if the bad weather really takes a hold.

I don't think you'll save anything by waiting . If the spec of the car is what you're looking for and you're happy and can afford the asking price go for it

I'm in Ireland so no VAT issues over here, it's from a private seller so it wouldn't matter anyway. It's really just the question of buying now or waiting for a potential saving in price after the new year...

is the car youve found rare?

if so, buy it.

if not, wait.

This.

If you know another one will come up soon enough then there is no harm in waiting to get a better price, but if you know they are rare.............
