So, if your car is new(ish) or high value you can get 14 days Return to Value Cover for Free. I would recommend you look at this, especially as its snowing.

Our family car is a VW Touran Blue Motion Tech, which I bought 5 months old for £17K. The dealer tried to sell me GAP (3yrs) for £600!! I declined. Once my 14 days is done, I will get 3 years cover for £137 - bit of a saving and total peace of mind with the shizzy weather.
