How did these things happen?

Were they your fault or someone elses?

Did you catch the buggers?

I feel the same, although my car is technically a crappy old french hatchback.. I seem to have caused considerable wear on the interior, bodywork and mechanics in less than 6 months frown

That's the real world for you. No matter what you try, sooner or later, you'll suffer damage.

If it's one of the Alfas or the Fiat, they all do that. If by any chance it's the Golf, then that's very unfortunate Alfahorn. You've been incredibly unlucky.

I feel for you, bloody disheartening!

I dare say a hole bunch of folks will post to say "it's only a car" but we know they are on the wrong site and just stumbled across this one to use as a chat room wink

Just for balance...
In 15 months I've covered about 2500 miles and had nothing go wrong at all.

We had a massive loan (for us) to buy a 6 month old D reg Metro City mainly for my wife to use. Three weeks later it got two nice, sharp, dents on the side where someone had carelessly opened their car door. I was devistated as it was the first decent car I'd ever owned.
BTW the car went on in true Metro fashion to fall apart - both boot hinges seized and snapped off when wife opened tailgate, nearside door had to be replaced at 4 years old due to holes you could get your hand in on the lower edge, gearbox locked up, TX tyres lasted 14-16000 miles, exhaust rotted away, waterpump and alternator failed, 1st MOT needed rear wheel cylinders as leaking, suspension sagged on one side, front and rear valances shed their factory paint and rotted along lower edge, and numerous little problems. This wasn't a high mileage neglected car but garaged, serviced, maintained, looked after second car that had done less than 40000 miles when we sold it at just under 5 years old !

Had the car 2 months done 2k miles
Had to fit - New radiator, 2 new thermostats, new heater control valve, re-torque down head and flush system to solve overheating problem and lack of power it had.
Also had someone scratch back arch whilst i was parked and have a crack in the windscreen.

09 plate Golf - 20 months - 45000 miles - Missing front grill (for the past 20k), broken fog light and big dents in the side where the OH reversed in to it (my fault apparently rolleyes). 6 tyres and 3 services.

Clearly not trying hard enough...
