Just a thought, but I fancy something a little different for a runabout and Ive been thinking about some of the Kei-Cars available in Japan. (Ie the fun ones, not the boxes on wheels.)

I think the only one officially imported was the cappuccino (Shame they never built the V8 C2 lol), but the Mazda AZ-1 and the Honda Beat appeal as well

Does anyone know anything about these? Its hard enough to find even basic info on the AZ-1 (and to a lesser extent the Beat) let alone track down owners clubs, specialists etc.

I know they arent big snarling V8 beasts, but hey, Im having problems insuring a 1.6 volvo for sensible money.

Don't pin your hopes on cheap insurance - my best quote for a Beat was twice what I was paying for an MR2 of the same value.

Cappucino is probably your best bet as these were imported officially.

Ouch on prices and insurance for the Beat (£4200 for a K reg?). Ah well, I was expecting them to be cheap to insure (ie 660cc engine etc).

The parts situation, as well as the cost of he cars means that AZ-1 and Beat are off the list now

There goes that idea... Looks like its back to looking at MX-5 / Series 1 MR2 / Cappuccino etc.

Thanks for the help guys
