Stolen - enclosed trailer
Discussion
Hi Guys. This is probably not the write forum but I need to vent my anger and I also need your help.
My beautiful, unique, individually designed fully enclosed trailer has been stolen - from the Slough area on Friday 22 November. We use it to transport our 1965 TVR Griffith to the races. Unbelievable really as it is very bespoke and is easily recognised. It had mounds of security on it (chain, wheel clamp, hitch lock) and I think they took it in broad daylight. In case you see it around the tracks or on the road here is a description:
Metallic silver (matched to the Fiat Coupe grey steel), made by Target Trailers (chassis no 20) and fully enclosed. 19 ft long (15 ft internal), 6ft 6 wide (over wheels) and 7ft high (fits a saloon). Full height roller shutter doors on each side and a half height roller shutter on the front. Rear drop down doors that serve as ramps. External electric jack point, internal wheel shelf, internal electric points and lights. You can see a picture on (unfinished as no winch or external electric point shown): www.targetmotorsport.com/news.shtml
I am gutted as it took ages to design and to make and we have only had it this year. Someone out there has got their hands on a beautiful trailer albeit designed to take our race cars (the Griff and our Lancias). Thankfully we are insured but that's really not the point.
Anyway, rant over. I know this happens every day but that doesn't mean that it makes you sick to the back teeth and angry to boot - such wasted time and energy.
Anyway, if you do spot it (it is rather hard to miss even if they repaint it) please get in touch. Thanks.

Deepest sympathy, suggest you go down to the Gym and punch a bag for an hour, this is the only legal way to vent the anger!
What are you supposed to do nowadays to protect your hard earned property? I am getting so paranoid I have FOUR ground anchors fitted in my vehicle shed and huge chains everywhere for all the trailers.
Last year when I insured my road-going quad it was only the NFU that would touch it at all, they quoted figures to show that during that year 50% of the Quads they had insured were stolen. Some of the thieves were using hydraulic cutting gear as per the Fire-Brigade (probably plenty lying about unused at the moment).
Last nights Thieves program made me even worse, anyone know how much the film is to stop CarJackers?
Will keep a look out for the trailer.

Louise, sorry to hear it was nicked, I'll keep a look out for it on the M25 although it's probably tucked away out of sight by now. I suppose the good news is that Griff wasn't still in it at the time.
PS. Nice to meet you at Woodwork last month, sorry I had to rush off but I had a plane to catch

Thanks for the sympathy guys. I agree that someone has it nicely tucked away ready for selling on. My fear is that I will see it in a couple of years time at the races being used as a burger bar. Mind you, the internal height is only 5 ft 8 so it would have to be run by fairly short people.
I didn't see the programme on thieves last night on purpose as I didn't want to increase my stress levels any more than they are.
Colin, nice to meet up with you too. It was a really good do and nice to meet more "die hard" Griff/TVR lovers.
