How much do you want to spend? The Gadget Shop online is a reasonable place to get presents, but I don't know whether they're still taking orders for delivery prior to Christmas... Worth a look?

BHS & Debenhams have some good little gadgets, toys, games singing hamsters etc. Reasonably priced from £5 to £20

There are some shops around that supply unglazed pottery (plates, mugs, vases, etc) and you paint your own design on them. Makes for a very personal gift, or, in my case, a pile of cack.

I agree with NB - can't go wrong with books... entertaining, mind-broadening and something can be found to pique anyone's interest...
