Hi for a very long time I just watched boards l like this and did not voice my opinion about any thing because of my spelling / grammar because I was worried that I would take a flaming for it (I did).
But I came to the dissuasion that if some one cannot see that I am reasonably bright and my opinions are just as valid as others because of my spelling then that is their problem. I am very severely Dyslexic and I have tried very hard to conquer my difficulties in this area (yes I general run every thing I Wright through a spell checker several times). But I will always have problems that until you have looked at any work with more than 3 letters and wondered how it is spent you will never understand even if you have previously spelt it correctly (and this is just the tip of the ice berg)
I have recently graduated and can tell you that although at uni my spelling was a problem most people where more interested in my problem solving / programming or other skills. I fined this weal after my first 6 month review that all though my boss was innately apprehensive about my Dyslexia He has been sufficiently impressed by my abilities in other areas as to have totally forgotten about it.
An attitude I have obsessed on this board is one that if you what it go and get it and dont winge as if you work hard you will succeed. That is what I am doing I work long hours I am succeeding so maybe I get the ode word spelt wrong in a report. So what better that, than I get the software wrong that I work on.

My problem is that I have a dyslexic keyboard which decides to miss out letters at random. These usually are 'T's' and 'H's'. It means reading the whole lot through thoroughly and sometimes at 3 a.m. that is not te best time to be doing so.
I believe outlaw has a similar type of keyboard.

if thats true of our friend Cambelt, his must be made by Fisher Price, btw where is the mad jock?
I realies that if people have not got english as there first langwidge then maybe they wont right so well on this forum but when people who have english as there first langwedge show they cant spel properly it means every time they have read something ( eg text books and job advertisements) they havent seen how the words are written and if they didnt see that then how can they say that they understood what the words meant at the same time??

If people are dyslexic then fair enough, but some people (me incl most of the time due to speed and can't be ar
to type well) seem to have atrocious spelling and grammar. I am not too old (I don't think) but cannot honestly believe that people can leave school in this country with this sort of literacy. And as I am at Uni I am reading my friends Essays and can't believe what they put.

Is working a laptop while you're driving safer than looking at a map book, as some dozy woman driver in a Toyota was doing on the M25 this morning???
