I currently have a Mondeo as a company car and bought a Caterham 7 for fun. I may be able opt out of my company car scheme which will enable me to have something a bit more fun than the Ford! Good car but fun it is not...

I have been spoilt by the smiles that you can have in a Caterham at such low speeds and at such low costs but feel that it's impracticality leads to me not using it that often. My thinking, therefore, is that I might be better off getting rid of both in exchange for one vehicle that does both jobs.

I tried a VX220 and an Elise but opted for the C7 on the grounds that they weren't nearly as much fun and didn't feel quick enough. However, given my change of circumstances and the impending launch of the VX220 Turbo, it might be the solution I am looking for. Importantly, this car must satisfy my quest for fun but in a package that provides reasonable luggage space, lowish running costs and decent reliability.

For my budget of £25k ish, I have also been thinking about a used BMW Z3 Coupe, an old shape M3, a Porshe Boxster or even a Hartge Mini Cooper S.

I would love to hear from people who may be able to help me here.

Many Thanks

Stuart

How much do they cost again? If its not much different to the Mondeo can't you get that as a company car and keep the caterham? Possably pay the diffenrence yourself?

Porsche Boxster would give you the best of both worlds but as I'm a Porsche nut I'm biased.

Fantastic car though.

If you feel the need to get something new, then the BMW M coupe sounds like the car I would go for.

However, if you cant beat the caterham and you need a run around for work. Why not just buy yourself a boring run around for work and keep the seven!
