Just read this article on the Evening Standard website, and I really really do despair!

www.thisislondon.co.uk/lifeandstyle/articles/2805617?source=Evening%20Standard

"properly handled infidelity can be a joyous thing. Being a mistress is a quiet and neglected art, and deserves a champion." WTF????

How can people enjoy being so selfish, cold-hearted and calculating, or am I just old fashioned?

Entirely in agreement with you here.. but then my experiences of being a mistress were decidedly mixed

So you're not a champion mistress then, Carz?

This seems to be something of a hot topic in the glossies at the moment - most of them speaking in favour of it. Did you know that around 50% of married men and 48% of married women (IIRC) will give in to temptation and have an affair eventually?

In a shallow materialistic kind of way, she sells the adultery thing quite well.

The only problem I've ever had with mistresses is that after a while they want more and you have to dump 'em.

What do I need a mistress for? The Tiv takes all my spare time and more cash than I have spare..

Curious thing, now I've no cash spare I seem to be able to attract a certain type of lady far better than when I was in the old tintop..

Guess I'm old fashoned, but were I ever to marry, I'd like it to be to someone that I wanted to be with and her me, rather than a part time relationship on the side..

I can think of a few advantages to having a mistress. Firstly, you can keep chopping them in; replacing one who's getting towards the end of her useful life with a newer one. Second, in an ideal situation, your mistress and wife would organise to have the painters in at different times, ensuring a continuous supply of sex. A third reason would be the obvious advantages of being able to have sex without the inevitable follow-up questions about what colour to paint the walls when we redecorate the bedroom, or whether or not it's my turn to clean out the guinea pig hutch.

But I love my wife and will never be an infidel.

I think the nail has been hit right on the head already... a Tiv is analogous to a mistress in any case..

And that's as good a reason as any why wifey should encourage you to chop your current one in for a T350c

Anyway AFAIC, one woman is hard enough work without adding to the burden..

BTW - By deduction, you lady Tiv owners also have mistresses and that makes you bisexual

SGirl: Nah - I was a crap mistress.. could never keep a pair of stockings unladdered for more than an hour.. and I kept leaving me knickers in the back of blokes cars

Thought this might amuse:

An artist, a lawyer, and a computer scientist are discussing the merits of a mistress.

The artist tells of the passion, the thrill which comes with the risk of being discovered.

The lawyer warns of the difficulties, "It can lead to guilt, divorce, bankruptcy. Not worth it. Too many problems."

The computer scientist says, "It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. My wife thinks I'm with my mistress. My mistress thinks I'm home with my wife, and I can spend all night on the computer!"

Oh noooo! Does this mean I have to sell mine and buy a really blokey car instead??? My Griff is definitely a bloke, not a female!

Another good reason for me and Mr Big not to get married then Can anyone else beat our 13.5 years together without an engagement.

I occcasionally threaten to 'come back as a lesbian' in moments of bloke induced exasperation.

Mr Big says I have his permission as long as he can watch.

My S will be returned to the status of a lady when she stops behaving like a little madam and allows me into the boot without the use of a screwdriver..

I think I may have paired up with a sulky teenager. That take me back a few years..
