so TATU release their New single on the 27th in the UK, and its getting Airtime on the radio, having been a hit across Europe.

so what..

well, I don't know really, its just that are these two young ladies are potentially going to be a role model for the 11-16 yr olds who follow the charts and stuff..



and..?

well.. umm.. they are schoolage lesbians who get apparently off with each other in their pop videos.. maybe I'm just being a bit of a prude, but I reckon this isn't the sort of stuff to be introducing en mass to young girls.. what do you lot think (apart from the obvious )

I think they're only *just* school age - 17 or 18. So, both being over the age of consent, entitled to do what the hell they want, then I guess they can do what they want.

They were featured in a recent issue of The Face which, ah, er, a friend showed me. I've been awaiting the froth and bother for, oh, a while now.

I guess Kleenex sales will be up though.

(And, actually, anything that doesn't stigmatise homosexuality is probably a good thing in my book.)

however as the communication to the youth these days seems to be through the media and music, I was just thinking that its almost a "rubberstamp" of approval for this kind of thing and whilst I have absolutely no objections to lesbians whatsoever, I still remember that the mind of a 12yr old is a strange and impressionable thing and "popularisation" of girls having fun with each other might not be quite right...
