How do you know?Joust, before I start please let me make it known that I have no agenda or axe to grind, my stand point on most things is "What ever gets you through the night", I would just like some clarification of your point of veiw, not a fight. So tell me, why should I, whatever my sexual orientation, have respect for what happened to Homosexuals in the past?
They may have unjustly had a hard time, but the law being moraly wrong does not change the fact that it is the law, and changing the law is always difficult. As for the name calling, I am in 100% agreement that it is intolerable, which is why I use the term Homosexual, you said you dislike this term being used and Mennonites would say that this term is incorrect, would you forgive my ignorance and explain.
Yours, never wishing to cause offence to anybody, Simon.

Carzee, you ought to know that some of us are born southern. I'm quite comfortable with my southern-ness. If you feel you want to experiment with being southern, go for it. Be warned though that one thing the southern community get really annoyed about is "tourists", people exploring the southern scene for the sake of their image, and people who say things like "not that I've got anything against southerners - I've got a southern friend"... etc blah blah
Serious question - where does this 1 in 10 ratio come from?
I've got dozens of friends, and literally hundreds of business acquaintances. I can count the number of gay individuals within that lot on the fingers of one hand, and that's including some I've not seen for years. And that's in the "creative world" as well, where traditionally you tend to find quite a few gay people.

My wife's southern.. does that help? I do worry about her going off with another southerner though, as I think she's bi-regional..
