"Punt and Pie" - A Cambs Meet
Discussion
Now "Punt and Pie" has been endorsed by the mighty PetrolTed and in calender, it is time, as sugested by Bonce (good lad!), that I should start a more obviously named thread.
To save time I 'll paste in the details from the old thread...
This now the official home of "Punt and Pie", I'm looking forward to meeting you guys, so please come along.
Mouse.
...couldn't resist

Ok.
I've finally got off my bum and been down to the Quy Mill.
It's a bit late for the 19th now. Probably is a bit short notice for you guys too, sorry :grovel:. So the 26th is a much better bet, so that's what I've put in for the calender.
I've checked it out. There is a good sized lounge area for being social/antisocial (delete as appropriate) in, with a bar hoorah! They will obviously be able to serve food to those who desire it. I will....
...and most importantly, there is a generously proportioned car park in which to corral(sp?) and scrutineer the beasts (except Twink 'cos she's a little shy and tends to get snappy when people get to close. Teenagers 'eh?!).
There are though, three very evil speed bumps, so this may need taking into consideration.
We have the possiblity of a finger buffet being laid on at a premium of £8.50 a head, or we can just just get food, if we want it, in the usual way. Either way I will have to give a rough indication of numbers so as not to shock the kitchen staff in to an impromtu strike.
Any questions?
p.s. Even Muppet is allowed to come as long as he leaves his felt-tip AT HOME

I hate to be overly anal but they don't have punts at the Quy Mill![]()

I'm predicting a bit of a hangover that morning, but I'll be aiming to have lunch.
I'll try to be there for 12:30 to 13:00, to be sure to be there before everybody else arrives. I'd hate for people to be milling around without someone to liase with...
...on the other hand there is a bar, so no one's likely to feel too lost.
ooo... Davidd, I love it when you ramdomly quote me...
Edited by danger mouse because he can't spell french words (probably on purpose, subconciously

I'll be there - only live in Newmarket round the corner so no problems getting there (for a change). Only one small problem though - doing my first track day on the 25th so the car may or may not be there!!! Though just being a little pesimistic I suppose.
Room for bread knife and kiddie? He does love TVR's....
Cheers,
Paul

As I said before, I hope it will go well and become a regular thing.
There seem to be quite a few us in the area, so it should be quite an interesting crowd.
I don't think there are any problems with bringing the family along. I've just got to warn the hotel if there are a large number coming so they can prime the kitchens. Tiny kids might be difficult with all the car around though...
...and they smell sometimes.
ATG, I live in Burwell too. How can I put this delicately?... bollocks to it! How old is your lady? If she's early 20's My Sister may know her. She went to Soham, unlike me, so she knows alot of peeps in Village.

Next time Sis comes back from Rumbleyland (read Lancs) I'll ask her.
I'm waiting 'til I get the fleece to get the stickers too. Sadly, even the wintery weather hasn't been enough for me justify the spend... yet.
God I'm sick of being poor.
Anyone want to go halves on a lottery ticket?
