Just a quick note to say that Frank featured on page 3 of the Daily Telegraph today - complete with photo.
You may remember that Frank was hit by a car last year and his PH owner, David, set up a webcam to keep an eye on him.
4.6 million people visited www.cathospital.co.uk and it has just won an award from Yahoo as one of the internet sites of 2002!
I just did a search for the threads about Frank but couldn't find them - probably looking in the wrong place. Anyway - well done David and Frank!

Yes, we've had radio stations and newspapers calling the office all day and David did an interview for Tomorrow's Guardian.
Frank's site has gone ballistic, having up to 1000 people simultaneously online at lunch time. Dunno why all the media have picked up on the story all of a sudden, the site hasn't been touched since June. Must be a combination of the Yahoo 2002 Picks award and the fact that the press are just bored of waiting for war with Iraq.

Had a cat a while ago; got to the ripe old age of about 13. Vet had been saying for the last few years that he should be dead; just didn't understand how the moggie kept going.. Fell off roofs, caught every fatal desease known to man, came home with a gammy eye and brain damage one day after we think a fight with a fox, you name it. Pulled through everytime without seemingly any distress. You knew when he was ill because he'd be overly affectionate; sit on your knee without clawing you to pieces.. Oh, and he'd barf on you.
Asked the vet if we should do the long walk to the bottom of the garden with a shotgun thing, but the vet reckoned he was fine. I think we would have had to have done, had he not lost his 9th life to the wheels of a car. My mothers car as she was slowly reversing out of the drive. Boy was she unpopular for a while..
Edited to say we think the cause of death was a heart attack - no broken bones found. Little bugger knew he was on the way out and decided to make a scene of it..

Or technically my sister has it now after it used to hunt and attack my dogs!
The sight of two large 6 stone samoyeds hiding behind a sofa as they were being terrorised by a cat was rather surreal.
My sister was once heard to saying to a visitor (who was sat on the sofa stroking the cat at the time):
"Ahh he likes you"
"How can you tell?"
"You still have hands!"

Samoyeds! Brilliant dogs. Had one for 13 years, it was never frightened of ANYTHING. Fantastic temperament.
Innuits use them to hunt bears, but they can be gentle as lambs with the kids!
It must have been one hell of a cat to terrorise two of them! Sure it wasn't a Panther?

Well, buttons the cat is soldiering on at 15. He's a crotchety old fart, and refuses to die.
I know 15 is nothing really, but he's looked on his last legs for so long now, I wonder if he'll ever bother with the whole dying thing. Perhaps it's his aim to carry on maiowing at me and tripping me up for the rest of my life, rather than his.

Unfortunately one of mine has been nearly blind from birth and is also a total coward, so the cat had very few problems in ambushing him on a regular basis...
We have had them both from puppies and I cant think of a more loving and friendly animal.
Bloody useless as guard dogs though and we dont mention the metric tonnes of white hair they shed on a daily basis!

I don't know about the company, but I'm sure Ted will want to supply a Pistonheads sticker to be stapled to Frank for the photoshoot...
(Come to think of it, a car website probably isn't Frank's cup of tea...)

Ahh the white hair!
have you tried washing it, spinning it and then knitting with it? It makes amazing angora-like yarn.
Mine was a useless guard dog too, but was VERY fiercly protective of my kids. My eldest daughter was out walking her one day and whilst the dog was off on an exploration my daughter was attacked by 3 very fearsome farm dogs.
Daughter screamed, Samoyed appeared at warp nine and fought all 3 dogs off. Made a real bloody mess of them too. Daughter un harmed thank god, Samoyed unmarked too!
I remember making a mental note afterwards to make sure I never got on it's bad side....

Ah the hair... The endless hair...
Ive heard a few similar stories about them, and seen one myself where my my dogs father vaulted a fence and appeared at mach 6 when one of my friends was being attacked by 2 guys outside his house. They ran for it rather quickly!
They are very loyal, and very protective if their family is threatened. The only problem with ours is their being overly affectionate with guests.
(Anyone sitting on our sofa should be warned that being jumped on by two six stone samoyeds looking for attention is a definite possibility)
