Well of all the crap and injustices that we have heard, read and seen lately the powers that be have decided that Tony Martin "will not be released BECAUSE HE IS STILL A DANGER TO CRIMINALS"

I can hardly type! And this in the same week that the advice is to maybe not jail burglars.
I'm now going to give myself up as I know I might be a danger to someone who commits a crime against my family/friends/property.

up. Well, maybe this is new Labia policy.
If you cannot control the criminals, cannot imprison the crims because there are so many of them and cannot guarantee the safety of the streets etc then turn everything on its head and adopt a radical new forward thinking policy:
Lock up all the victims so they are safe from all the baddies out there.

It's because unlike the usual thieving murdering scum, Mr Martin is not "playing the system" - ok he's behaving but he's sticking to his guns and not showing any remorse for blasting that toerags into oblivion. So the parole board looks unfavourably on that - and they'll hide behind their regulations and guidelines and go back to their nice warm comfortable homes at night thinking that they've done their job - @rseholes.
Poor sod! Apparently he's always been focused on July release so this isn't a huge setback for him. But the really upsetting thing will be when he gets home. From the TV pictures his house in now derelict and in a helluva mess. Hope someone looks after him - I still see him as a victim entitled to receive some aid.

As I understand it, in order to be considered for parole, a convict must accept their guilt and show repentence (ie apologise). He refuses to do this for fairly obvious reasons... and he'll be released in 6 months anyway..

This useless labour government, who were going to be "hard on crime" are like all labour, just COWARDS, only hitting the defenceless. I'm just waiting for the old age pensioners who are going to be prosecuted for "tempting" scumbags to mug them!!!!!! A bit OTT but you know what I mean!
The Scumbags are getting off free, see the recommendations from Lord twaddle(?) about not binning burglars etc.... See Gatsos for hitting the "defenceless" motorist, see paycheques for terrorists (e.g. Gerry Adams getting paid for NOT being in Shitehall) and monies for wasters from the 3rd world who just prey on PCness and Labour "take it in the arseness"
Tony Martin was perhaps OTT but he should NEVER have been imprisoned. Anyyone who wastes a scrote should get a good conduct medal! Scrotes include labour politicians by the way!

If Tony Martin had killed Brendan Fearon also, and hid the bodies, there would still be evidence.

Mr Martin won't be treated leniently because he is seen as a law abiding citizen who has strayed from the straight and narrow and must be punished, if he was an out and out crim who did not give a f**k there would be a raft of agencies and do-gooders to ease him through this 'unfortunate' incident. I've been trying to find a chilling but totally believable post from Madcop which explains the way magistrates view the great unwashed
Quite simple to avoid the evidence - use one of those big game dart guns (you know the sort they use to sedate rhinos on those 'Vets in the Wild programs') loaded with Potassium chloride solution - no mess, wrap the bodies in nylon carpet tied up with nylon rope, weight with a couple of breeze blocks and dump in a deep lake or (even better) the sea...
I can agree with the sentiments some of you display, but the cold facts are the guy shot someone in the back with an illegally held weapon (IIRC).
He got a much reduced sentence on the basis of all the mitigating circumstances, but AFAICS the law was not prepared to set a precident of making it open season for people to buy guns illegally and shoot anyone who walked on their property.
In Martins case I can understand his paranoia as he'd been burgled before (3 times?), but from the legal point of view it's very difficult to make him a special case. Otherwise you open up the possiblity for any scroat to use it to for their advantage.

That's OK too IMHO but (also IMHO) Tony Martin wasn't a scroat. Big difference if you're "defending your house" when you've previously been inside for GBH

There is an unwritten contract between Government and the people that, on one side, Government will provide the framework and mechanisms for a functioning rule of law - laws, police, judiciary, prisons etc - and that in return for the protection given to ordinary citizens and the punishment meted out to offenders by that system, that on the other side the people will not resort to their own form of justice.
Tony Martin was sent to jail becuase society cannot allow it's members to circumvent the due process of the law and as such be in breach of the contract above.
But what happens when the Government, police and judiciary are themselves in breach of the contract?
What happens when citizens are no longer offered the protection of the law, and the criminals are no longer provided with a suitable punishment for their crimes?
I'll tell you what happens - anarchy. We were precious close to this when Tony Martin shot the scrotes (as evidenced by public reation) but we are even closer to it today, given this Governments capitulation on crime and punishment.
As Madcop has pointed out, many crimes are no longer even investigated. And when the Governments senior law officers are openly talking about burglary no longer being viewed as a serious offence then the game is all but up! Crims know it too. The risk now is that there will be more Tony Martins and (Fred Barras's) as the people revolt against the failure of the system, whilst at the same time the crims take their cues from the liberal opinions espoused by New Labour hierarchy.
The grotesque spectacle of the surviving scrote receiving legal aid to sue Tony Martin for "loss of earnings" whilst Martin will almost certainly loose his house in order to pay his legal bills defending against that claim is but the final proof, if any were needed, that the whole ediface that is our criminal "justice" system is on the verge of collapse.

Any scrott that is hurt committing a crime deserves all they get, even if involves getting blasted with a shotgun. I live within 30 miles of Tony Martin's home and know what a waste of time it would be to call the Police to an incident. You don't see any Police around hear, unless of course you are speeding. They all appear to be to busy supping coffee in there nice warm Police stations to bother.
Bearing in mind the poor sod had been robbed 3 times before what was he supposed to do ? The theiving scrotts got what they deserve. Now because Tony Martin won't say he's sorry he has to stay in jail. Sod that, give the bloke a medal for takling crime.
As for the scrott sueing Tony Martin at our expense, thats just taking the piss. What has this country become !
