Yes, just off to meet the Estate Agents later this afternoon. Did some work on a cottage with a view to rent but it looks so nice we decided to sell rather than watch someone trash it!

Had the house valued as i was gonna put it on the market then had the crash so its taken the back burner for now.
Also kinda think we might have a few hard times ahead due to a probable War.

I'd love to be able to buy a flat at the moment, but living near London means prices have more than doubled in the last 5 years. And as a single person without any savings ('cause I spent them all on a new car ) I can only look on in amazement at the prices of flats. Here's hoping for a nice 're-adjustment' of house prices in the next year or so.

Same as you guys above, gave up on the thinking of saving for a house last year.
20K savings and a basic wage of 10k where I was at didn't give me a chance.
So I bought a TVR instead and got a new job.

Still can't afford anywhere though.

Can't even afford to buy a place in Pitsea!!
They are going for round 85k and that is an area which is supposed to have some of the highest Car crime rates in Essex.

Frantically saving now, at this rate I should be moving out of my Parents place when I am 40

i have calculated that over the last year house prices round here went up on average £500 per WEEK. Apparently i live in a hot spot i'd say its king about to explode!

Not selling, but looking to buy. Problem is that I want something a bit different, either a conversion project (mill,church, farm buildings) or a new build project (like Thierry Henry's in the Clio advert). The other problem is... I'm in Middlesbrough, so could be looking for some time!

Guys, even though house prices have risen considerably, the cost of borrowing has come down massively! If you have no deposit and have a decent mortgage advisor you will be able to get a 100% + mortgage. If the value drops does it matter in the short term?
