Hi
Has anyone got any idea where i can get a computer controlled video switching unit. for about 8 channels of video input. It will be used for Home CCTV, i have contacted a number of CCTV installers and Compter companies about this but i can not get a computer controled one all are manual.
if anyone can give me info or if anyone is good at electronics do they want to build me one, moneys not really a problem as i was gonna get a professionally installed CCTV system just dont ask the price of it.

Not sure what you mean. I've got a digital CCTV system, it's a PCI card capture thingy with 10 ports for video input.
It can be set to record each one that has movement blah blah blah, and each one will use up the fps ability of the capture card. The standard ones are 30fps, but you can get a 120fps version too, which is better for 8 cameras as it will be 15fps for each camera, which is reasonably good speed.
They will record independently and can be viewed whilst recording etc etc.
It's basically a digital multiplexer. Is that what you want?

The system is pretty good. I've got the 30fps system with 10 camera, but now wish I had the 120fps. But then again, faster is always better is my book.
