Streaming Video Solution
Discussion
Hi All,
Anyone au-fait with streaming video from webservers...? I've done it before for a laugh using Windows Media Encoder and Real Encoder but now looking to fulfil a project on a larger scale...
Basically, I need to provide a live AV stream over the web from the London Hilton using ISDN (up to 8 64k channels) that can be accessed by multiple clients using dialup/ISDN/ADSL connections.
Please contact me through my profile to proffer advice...!
Thanks in Advance,
Roop

Roop,
I'm looking at doing something similar, but on a much smaller scale, with a web cam in the garage to show live video of the rebuild (and to keep an eye on it from work!). Seeing as you've used Windows Media Encoder before, how do you rate this for live video? I'm not using a particularly high power system, although broadband is arriving in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions on the best way to make this work with minimal effort?
Thanks - any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi Tony,
Media Encoder is pretty good, but you'll need a reasonably pokey machine to encode the video. My PII-400 gets chocked up encoding stuff. There's wizards in there which get it working in about 5 minutes flat...!
