HELP !!! Have I just bu66ered my printer ???

I had to install a new modem in my PC. On restarting it had lost its drivers. I got everything up and running again but inadvertently plugged the printer into a SCSI port and now the printer utility cannot find the printer and I cannot find it manually (setting printer to LPT1 in Control Panel has no effect)
It is an Epson Photo 890 and is running from the parallel (I think) port.
Any techie types your help would be most welcome
