Burglars steal Audi TT
Discussion
A good friend had his front door kicked off its hinges and the keys to his new Audi TT taken from the kitchen table at 4am yesterday.
The thieves drove off in the TT before he got downstairs.
The car has been recovered, but it makes you wonder what lengths they would have gone to if he had kept the keys under his pillow?
Any suggestions to prevent this happening again?

Because of this kind of thing, I dont leave my keys downstairs at night. I just put them on my bedside table.
Never leave keys in the lock on the inside or on a hallway table either. Its quite common aparantly for scumbags to use a rod/hook thingy to put through your letterbox to lift the keys without even breaking in to your home.
Dont keep the key downstairs and have a baseball bat and screwdriver under the bed. Why the screw driver?...well, one evening a good few years ago, a similar thing happened to one of my Dads friends. He kicked the shit out of the burgler (broken nose, jaw...the works). Once the red mist had cleared, he realised he would get done for assualt, so he took a screw driver and placed it in the crims hand (he was out cold). Police turn up and he claimed self defense.
I have an old carflow strongarm steering wheel lock under the bed, my car keys are in my bedside cabinet and the screwdrivers are downstairs. God help any scrote that breaks into my house...

well "douglasr" i like your dad's friends methods and good to hear he kicked the S#it out of the low life. its shows you how wrong the law can be some times. there shouldn't be a question over if you assaulted the criminal, they shouldn't have been in the house full stop.
which brings me to a point would you shoot a criminal if they were in your house, if you had the means to do so???

trojan horse said: I really like the idea of vigilante squads to combat the scum who f...k about with peoples hard earned cars.
Anyone got any really good ideas on a punishment that fits the crime
Yeah, a car cleaning service after they get out
They have to come round once a week to clean the car they tried to nick, inside and out. 12 months minimum!
i have a maglite next to my bed, if i hear funny noises it performs 2 functions, first it provides light, second, and most importantly its a fooking good weapon!!!
and if you can get you hands/pole into our letter box without waking us up/losing 1 or 2 fingers then good luck to you, even the postman has trouble...
then of course you'd have to find the shelf with the keys on which would be difficult to reach from the letterbox, then you'd have to hook a set of keys, hoping they're from a car...
if your were lucky enough to get some car keys you would then have to walk down the street to where all the cars are parked and work out which one these keys work... good luck to you scrotes!!!
