Travel conditions?

Has anyone been on the M25 (from Jn 10 to 23), the A3 London to Guildford, or the A1 between London and Lincolnshire today?

I'd really like to spend the weekend up north as it's my sister and my Dad's birthdays, but from what I hear on the weather news it's suicide.

Anyone had direct experience they'd care to relay?


*P.s, my car is quite competent in snow and ice. Winter driving doesn't worry me too much after many fine hours in icy car parks practicing 'on limit safety control'. Tho you can guarantee (sp?) I'll be taking it steady if I do go.

just been trying to get up the A1, it was closed by an accident at Sandy also A1M Baldock to Hatfield was grim

Yup, everything's fd, my mate and brother were supposed to be coming down from Norfolk for my birthday, but being as the worse affected roads are in East Anglia, the M11 and M25, they can't come

..round here you just use a landrover, get a shovel out, and get on with it...

Round here everyone has a brand new Land Rover/ Mitsubishi Shogun/ Toyota Hilux and no desire to get it dirty.
