Mont Blanc pens...

I was given one at a formal engagement last week - a Meisterstuck Le Grand 146 Fountain Pen.

As lovely as it is, I'm pretty skint & can't really justify using a £230 fountain pen. Anyone fancy it? I know this isn't ebay (sorry Ted ) but I thought I'd give you lot first shout - I'd like to see it go to a good home

keep it. you will appreciate it as you get older.

Its even harder to justify to buy such a pen when you are older so if you get one as a present keep it, you will use it later.

I say keep it, I have one and love it, even though I do not write that much anymore, unless its via a keyboard. I still love the pen and it writes very well.

Absolutely keep it. Its a quality product, and a classic.

Shallow I know, but have you ever seen a film where a pen other than a Mont Blanc is used?

Thanks guys - you're right - after much deliberation, I've decided to hang on to it.

I haven't used it yet, as I knew that if I did, I'd never be able to sell it...

...actually - platinum. The nib, that is, with 22 carat gold as well.

I dunno - if it lasts a lifetime (and it certainly looks & feels like it should) - that's about three quid a year.

And yes, there's a bit of gold

My Pa in Law has one, it is probably the least reliable pen in their house! It has been back to be fixed (at £70 a pop) three times in three years..

Nearly as reliable as my Breitling!
