Accomodation in Barbados?

Does anyone know of any fairly cheap (but still nice!) accomodation in Barbados? Close to a beach is essential!

I wondered if anyone had any contacts over there - or pehaps a holiday home they would be happy to rent out to a fellow PHer? I need it for a week at the end of Feb/beginning of March.

As it happens I will be in Barbados tomorrow. Im staying at the Asta Beach Hotel where the boyfriend has been before so he says its very nice.

We're staying self-catering so in-expensive for the accomodation.

How many are going and have you decided what part of the island you would like to be in?

Sharpish reply would be good cause i leave for the sun at 6pm!

West coast (apparently the weather is better?). Just 2 of us going. Don't mind if it is a hotel, apartment, self catering or all inclusive...

And yes I am a lucky lad. Especially as I got the tickets free after flying business class with Virgin last year

cool, my tickets were free too! flying out with Virgins finest class ! YAY! im v. excited.

try Asta Beach Hotel, very good beach, 10 min walk to the bars and resteraunts etc etc.

actually, your best bet is to stay away from the All Inclusives in Barbados as they're not very good quality food wise and if you stay near St Lawrence Gap there is plenty of choice in the food/bar area. I dont think you need worry about the weather! It's peak season, everywhere is fecking hot!

We stayed in The Savannah over Christmas, great place -virtually brat free (can't stand kids - sorry) and nice West Coast location right on the beach. Not that cheap though. St Lawrence Gap is a bit Costa Del Sol IMO, but good for eaterys.

The weather isn't hugely different, it's only a small island. But the waves on the East coast can be huge and actually quite dangerous. The beaches on the west coast are a lot more tranquil.
I have found the South coast to be a good compromise. St. Lawrence Gap is the place with lots of bars and eateries.

If you can ALMOND BEECH HOTEL or ALMOND BEECH CLUB. Only problem, you won`t want to come home. You even forget about TVRS & PISTON HEADS, that could be due to the rum. When they say sip it,word of warning.
