Condensation

My sister in law has an old car which, over the past year, has started getting considerable condensation build up on inside windows overnight (cold winter temperatures). She says this never used to happen in winter.
Can anyone explain why this should have started and do you know of any 'cures' ? On my advice she tried leaving the windows open a tad but it hasn't helped.

Are the carpets wet? Any water leakage from seals or w.h.y will result in condensation when the car is parked after a run.

Alternatively is someone living in the boot? Tell tale cooking smells and Pizza delivery mopeds are a warning sign.

I've always found this to be caused by leaks. Wet/damp carpets would be my first check, buy some damp removing granules from a hardware shop.

Great - thanks for the responses.
Just phoned her and the drivers side carpet is soaked ...... seal somewhere I guess.
She checked boot .... nobody !!

silica gel is that still available these days?

Check the rear light seals, they often let in water and can be a right sod to find.
