playing .mpg files?
Discussion
Right, I've managed to get a copy of Ghostrider, you know the Getaway in Stockholm on motorbikes jobby. Anyway, the file is a .mpg, not an mpeg.
How the bloody hell do you play them, Windows Media Player, Quicktime and Real Player have all failed. DivX won't play it. WMP sends a request for a codec but can't download it. Anybody got any ideas? I get sound but no pictures.

Download the NIMO codec software. It installs every video and audio codec you'll ever need. It's got hundreds of mpg mpeg and avi codecs.

There's a piece of software called GSpot (I know, I know... cue the "how did you find it?" quips!
)... it will tell you which codec the file is and whether you have it installed.
This is it here... www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/gspot.cfm
Also, a great forum for video type stuff is www.dvdrhelp.com - it's a little "complicated" at first, but stick with it - you'll usually find any answers you are looking for.
Cheers,
Phil.
