My car is a numpty magnet - discuss ...
Discussion
Why is it, whenever I'm out driving the TVR, that I have to contend with numptie behaviour from the boy racers and/or beemer drivers that manouevre to surround me. Why oh why do they have to try and prove that their car is just as fast, corners as well, etc. by driving 3 feet or less from my boot.
NO, YOU MORONS I'M NOT RACING YOU! and while I'm at it:
TURN YOUR F
ING FOGLIGHTS OFF! I'm sure this isn't unique to TVRs and goes for pretty much any sports car, but dear God, do I have to put up with this all the time? Is it just me?
Thankyou for listening,
Steve.
It's not just you! I get this all the time, normally people pushing me to see how fast I will go. I just ignore it and occasionally floor it burning more fuel than I care to think about!
While we are on the subject, why do MOST of the BMW drivers in the UK drive like frickin maniacs!!! Its bizzare behaviour. I am a BMW driver as well but not like these guys!

the BMW's might be due to this

Make sure the dealer removed the magnets from the front and offside of the car. BMW dealers are notable for their failure to remove them prior to delivery.
If left in situ, they can cause the car to become attracted to the bumper of the car in front and to metal barriers, causing the car to veer directly to the outside lane when joining a motorway.

Let them pass, and then if you feel like it, follow them instead! They hate it, and it is much easier to follow a car than be followed, because you see their brakes lights, feel them slowing/speeding etc. It also means you can humiliate them by showing how fast you really can accelerate/brake. Or, slow down, give a cheery wave, let them past, then pull out and floor it!!
Got to say, that the only person so far to have a go at me in the Tamopra was a bike, about a 500-750cc, and he ws suitably impressed by the fact that he couldn't keep up with me.

The pricks on the inside in a BMW.
Seriously i get these w*nkers in their tossy 323s and 5 series trying to "impress" me all the time. They think theyre the bees knees.. Listen up you sad faggots, your driving a german cortina!!
You aint fast, you dont handle no good, and your dicks are tiny.
So stay away from me!!

Can we clarify that you are referring to the UK BMW drivers?
I feel insulted!!!

you could also say the same thing about Mercs as well,
when I was in Germany (dusseldorf)
BM's and Mercs were 10 a penny.
the Mercs were taxi's. and like you say, the German equivalent of our Cortina's
nothing wrong with cortinas but !

They don't claim to be fast, the ride is designed to be comfortable and they have levels of depreciation TVR can only dream about nowadays.
Oh - and I thought it was sports car drivers that had small dicks.

I expect most people get this problem, I do and It gets on my nerves. I must admit, the majority of the time it is a bmw of some sort. Im sure there are drivers out there who have no clue about other cars and there performance, but they seem to think that whatever they are in is better/more deseriabnle or faster etc that the car in front. All boils down to basic instinct of competiveness. Bloody cavemen they have everything to answer for. An example, there is a lad opposite me who has a Seat Cupra R thingy, now I know there nippy and all that, on several occasions he has followed me through our road right up my ass driving like a tit. Does he honestly think I would be impressed by his car or him, maybe if I had a rusty bag of spanners, yes.

Hope its not Mungo
This happens all the time - one must simply rise above it. The most important thing is to drive defensively so that the idiot tailgater and mental overtaker is not in a position to involve YOU in an accident.
If it means getting out of their way using the acceleration and handling of the car - so be it.
If it means pulling over to let the nutter past - so be it. I've had to pull into a layby before now to get rid of one.
So what? I'm hung like horse and don't have anything to prove!

I had a couple of guys tailgate from about 10 feet away through a 40 limit on the way to work the other night. So when the rural stretch of derestricted came up I dropped a gear and 'pulled away smoothly' slightly stretching the speed limit in the process. About a mile later they caught up with me again as I was back down to the speed limit(ish). I pulled over and got out of the car to see if they might have a problem - well I had to really it was a Police T5 and had its blue lights on!

I tend to get quite a few people egging me on in the P1. They see the skirting and the wing, and obviously have a crack.
Sometimes I can't help but make progress away (am only human), but generally I just stick to the speed limit even around hair pin bends so that when numpty driver sticks to my bumper and doesn't pay attention to his own driving, then the arrival of a hair pin bend that they were unprepared for ('cos they were so close) tends to lead to problems for them. Tend to find they drop back after that.

its not just the car you drive which acts as a magnet to these pilocks, in my case it can also be your age. i am 18 and regularly get challenged by the max power brigade at traffic lights. i drive a 1.6 16V astra which obviously isn't anything like as quick as some of the machinary you people drive but it'll piss on all the 1.1 nova's with their decreasing the power BIG bore halfords screw on exhausts.
anyway i was driving my girlfriend and her mother to a wedding reception and surprise surprise out of the wood works comes kevin and his "crew." first set of traffic lights i begin to edge forward, they now think they have a race on their hands ( as if A)my passengers would tell me off and B) as if i would drag myself down to their level.
the lights began to change and it was go go go, well at least for him it was, i just pulled away normally
Next set of traffic lights i was 4 cars infront but in the wrong lane so i had to give it a bit of poke.next thing i know they were on the other side of the road on the other side of a central reservation. they only managed to get back onto the right side of the road just avoiding the on coming traffic. just to prove a point.
thought about taking the reg and reporting them for dangerous driving but they were too far ahead. not that would have made much difference i doubt they had any insurance, tax or even a licence.
