A quick summary of my weekends escapades.

To all you "northerners" I've got to say you lucky bastards have been truely blessed with some of the most stunning and beautiful scenery imaginable. I spent the weekend staying just outside Buxton near the Cat and Fiddle pass, green laning and trail riding out all over the Pennines and covered almost 100 miles off road on Saturday this took in a lot of the "3 counties" and we even found ourselves round near Chatsworth (I didn't come to Nubbins PH do's but having seen the place now and what a venue) the weather was glorious the trails testing to the extreme covering rivers, rock faces, and frozen ice covered tracks. Without a doubt it left me feeling that the south east is certainly missing out on a lot. We stayed in a cracking little local pub with good grub and friendly locals, outstanding. The only downer on saturday night was we were so knackered we were all creeping off to bed by 10 o'clock, so didn't get to rip the town up.

Anyway Saturday was good and Sunday satrted out the same way the only downer being that by 11 o'clock I'd managed to get it wrong and dislocated my knee, needing to be ambulanced out from up in the Pennines, loads of drugs and superb service from the medical teams so even a thumbs up for that. I've now got 6 weeks on crutches and off a bike for 3 months but I can honestly say it was worth it and I'll be back next winter.

Nubbin without a doubt you are a lucky bloke, you live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world and work in a worthy profession.

-love the place myself. Moved up form Dorset about 10 years ago. Don't forget the cheap beer and petrol!

I agree, I live near Ashbourne, so I am quite central to all the fabulous countryside. It is a great place to live.

Was out that way on Saturday. Nice part of the country I reckon. Good pubs, good twisty tarmac and great scenery.
