Saturday night.
Hear a noise like three little gimps playing with a shopping trolley on their way back from the pub. Yup, sure enough these three mongoloids come into view: two of them bundled into a shopping trolley as a third pushes them along the street and, for reasons known only to the seriously trolleyed (both literally and metaphorically), lets go...
So these two nimrods bounce off the side of my car before running off down the street. I was down the stairs, into my steel toecapped boots and out of the back gate before you could say "claret was imminent".
By the time I got there they had, of course, scarpered into the night no doubt chortling to themselves about how they'd had a bit of a laugh and got away with it. And I'm left with a hand-sized dent in my car that will cost a fistful of dollars (which I don't have) to fix.
I realise it's only a Ford Mondeo, but it's my bloody car and I'm paying what is, to me, a fortune to keep it on the road. No witnesses, no descriptions, no evidence, save for the dent, no chance of getting a conviction.
Why bother?

Animal, sorry to hear that mate... as someone who has been there, I feel for you... it may "only" be a Mondeo, but it's YOUR car, so should feel agreaved.
Time to start beleiving and good and bad karma eh?
As for the dent - try a Ford bodyshop... you might be surprised how competitive they are...

Sorry to hear about your incident....won't your insurance pay? Or does the excess and loss of no-claims-discount equation not add up. At least if you claim it postpones the extra costs until renewal time.
Get an estimate for the work before you make any decisions regarding reporting it - then at least you can make an informed choice.
Sorry, mate. These idiots were almost certainly pissed and had no concept of the bother, cost and grief they've caused you.

I live next door to a pub and have suffered many such incidents.
We've even been sitting watching the telly at 2am on a Friday night (Sat. morning) and had the window stoved in all over the dog and my G/F's lap, 'cos a bunch of tw4ts are staggering around on the pavement outside.
Lots of damage to cars but of course never any help from ins. co's nor police.
I feel for you mate I really do and who cares what sort of car it is?
IT'S YOURS and they have no right to damage it and
off.
But whaddya do eh?
Give 'em a spankin' and you'll be sharing breakfast with Tony Martin. I got fined £1000 for doing similar 18 months ago.
Don't get me wrong nobody likes a good night out more than me nor a few beers
But there's such a thing as "knowing how to behave"??
Feckin' country's down the tubes
Alan.
