Hi all,

As you may imagine, there is an upswell of anti-French sentiment in the US resulting from their intransigent stand on UN, NATO and EU procedures regarding the disarmament of Iraq.

These sentiments have taken many forms from boycotting French products to a revival of derogatory jokes concerning the French. A few examples are:

A restaurant in North Carolina has had it menus reprinted and eliminated 'French Fries', (Chips to our UK brethren), substituting the term 'Freedom Fries'.

A Dog Show in Florida has eliminated the categories for 'German Sheperds' and 'French Poodles'.

Q. 'What do you call 200,000 Frenchmen walking
with their hands in the air?'

A. 'The Army'

Is not the term "Yankee" derived from a French word "Yanqui"" - or was that an old Indian word?

For a country that has such an inept history in defending their own borders (and a recent reliance on on the English speaking world liberating them), they are great at telling everyone else how to do things.

Slippery, slimy, not a bit. Do they have commercial interests in Iraq, not much ! Why have they invited Mugabe, because they fancy a chance to increase their influence in Africa.

My advice, count your fingers after you have shaken hands with a Froggie..............

Ah well it makes a change from an upswell of anti-American sentiment in France resulting from their intranigent stand on UN, NAto and EU procedures regarding the arming of justaboutanywhereelse.

Isn't the whole boycotting produce a very French thing to do?

let's bring this thread to a rapid close.

The French, Germans, Americans, English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Italians, Russians, Polish, Dutch and people from Luxembourg are all bastards. Everyone else isn't to be trusted because they talk in funny voices.
