Planning applications-advice needed.
Discussion
2 years ago I bought an old house in the town centre. In the rear courtyard is a large barn and outbuildings being used commercially by a joinery business. It's been commercial for over 60 years. The last third of the kitchen in my house is sectioned off from the residential kitchen and was being used by the joinery as their office as it fronts the yard. When I bought the house etc the joinery business had just relocated elsewhere and I had vacant possession. I bought this house for it's commercial potential especially with my low key engine building business. I know the planning people might never allow a new business to commence in this neighbourhood because of nearby residences but I don't want to loose the business recognition that the barn has. I have submitted plans to improve the outbuildings and put it forward as a residential application. I have left the barn out of the applications. Any body got any experience with joint use properties? The planning people really want to 'regularise' everything.
