I justed picked up my new car and I'm wondering if it's worth taking up the subscription for the traffic master thats fitted? It's one of these speaking types.

I already have one of the small battery operated mobile ones that flash up the LED's! Is the fitted one much better?

Wouldn't bother Paul. Bloody things a nightmare, automatically comes on (you have to switch it into silent mode each time) and you get talked at every 5 mins. Usually you are already in the jam or - if you're like me and too lazy to find a new route - you get to the area she is moaning about and drive straight through.
if you have something you trust already, I'd stick with it.
IIRC subscrption is about 24 quid a year.

Which car is it? I had a Citroen C5 hire car a while back, and with a bit of fiddling (no manual with the car), I got it to just flash a red light at me when there was a warning, and listened to it if I wanted to. Anything I did hear was checked with the orange traffic information service, just to be sure, as they always seem to be pretty much spot on.
