Alarm Problems.....AGAIN!!!!!

Cars! WHY THE HELL DO WE ALL PUT UP WITH THEM! F*CKING THINGS!
Anyway, today, I went hillwalking, and left my car parked in a parking area by the side of the road, and set the alarm. Group of us going up, halfway up a big hill (biggest of the day) I could hear my alarm going off, so I had to run back down it, disarm it, and run back up the hill.
What I can't understand is what made it go off, all the doors were shut, all the switches are switching, the alarm arms and disarms no problem, but it doesn't matter when, were or how I park it, if I set the alarm within 10 minutes its singing its arse off!
Anyone offer any help?
I have tried that thing that Dennis gave me on another thread, it all came out ok!

Cant find anything on why its triggering after 10 mins ??? try this though , just had it e mailed to me from a mate ...
Alarm self tests on all escorts. Open the bonnet and press and release the bonnet switch 8 times very quickly at this point the alarm horn will bleep. Open and shut all the door one at a time, lock and unlock both doors and turn the ignition on and off, the horn should bleep with each action. If any do not bleep the problem is with that switch. Lock switches are fitted round the door barrels and door opening switches are fitted to the door catches.

Is this 'reasonable' for a Cobra alarm, or should I stick with a local Supplier/Fitter! I'm looking at the Cat 1.

The garage I use for all my work fit Alarms but are reluctant to supply for some reason!
