First accident!!! :o

On the 20th (Happy B'day to ME and Graham!
) I had my fist car accident:'(
Driving along at 3AM (don't ask), it had been raining - I had no idea how much because I was asleep. Driving round a long, sweeping lefthand 180o bend with a 50 limit and 35 recommended speed which I am used to taking (often at 60kph
in the dry)
I was only going 25 or so, slow and careful because of the rain, and hit an invisble PUDDLE while starting to accelerate out of the bend - you can probably guess what happened then!
Aquaplaned and understeered straight into the curb, SCREECH-BANG!
Had to change the wheel in pitch darkness, the tyre was intact but had moved about 15cms backwards. Even the space saver rubbed when turning. Limped home with the car violently pulling to the right:s BIG trouble in the morning from the olds

I am paying for all the repairs and giving my next four weeks wages to my mother - it was her car after all
About $600 dollars, being seen to by a mechanic mate of mine.
Damage is bent 1/4 panel (by door hinge), badly scuffed wheel, broken lower tie rod, bent lower swingarm. Luckily the shock is ok.
Could've been far worse, if the curb was 3cm higher, the bumper would have been ripped off!
Any advice for dealing with this, anything at all?!?

OH no peloh mah man, bad shit dinged my GF's car last year in my first real accident, saved THOUSANDS by doing the work myself, tought myself how to panelbeat in the process.... i ended up buying a new suspension corner and front quarter panel from a wreckers for about 2 hundy all up, fitted the new suspension and steering by myself in like half an hour so it was fully mechanically ok again and then spent a couple weeks fettling the new panel and respraying it etc.... in short completed a full repair for about a thousand when the panelbeaters were gonna charge about $3500..... food for thought.

PS those panelbeating skills are gonna come in handy for me rebuilding the TR over the coming months
