German dogs to be fitted with 'number plates'
Dogs in Germany are to be fitted with identification plates so passers-by can note down the details of pets that foul pavements and shop their owners to the police.
The man behind the pilot scheme in Frankfurt, litter official Peter Postleb, says the scheme will be expanded to other cities if it is a success.
He said: "If someone has a car accident and drives off then they run the risk someone will note down their number and they will get in big trouble.
"The same should apply to irresponsible dog owners whose try and escape after their dogs have fouled the walkways."
He said they had still not settled on the final design and shape of the canine number plates but added: "It will be clearly visible, and will encourage lazy dog walkers to pooper-scoop or face fines."
I'd like to know how they will police this, and indeed what it will look like. Whatever next....

All dogs in Germany have a dogtag to prove they've paid dogtax, it's just that the Frankfurt authorities are issueing a numbered one now, so that if it gets stolen (tag or dog), they can find the owner! It's a medallion about 1 inch square!!!! Typical BILD-Zeitung rubbish reporting!!!
BET they didn't tell you about the rubbish police in Grmany though? TRUE!!! When you put out your recyclable waste (in a yellow see through placcy bag), one of the BinMen will check the contents and if there is something not allowed they'll put a "refused" red sticker on it and charge the householder a fine for putting out the "wrong" rubbish!!! POLICE STATE!!! for rubbish FFS!!!!!

So how can a passer by see this number so easily as to write it down to report the owner, they would have to have bloody good eyesight
I can't see the owner letting the aforementioned passer by stop him to look at the dogs collar.

not just dogtax but also to prove that the creature has been vaccinated against Rabies. As for policing the anti-fouling laws, it's easy - use the police!! Ask Mrs Junkie how many times she was escorted into the local Tengelmann's by big butch (m & f) officers to get a carrier bag for a poop-scoop.......

Something similar to the rubbish tax happening up here. 2 different wheelybins, one green for household rubbish and one blue for clearly defined recyclable rubbish. Card, clear plastic bottles but not coloured, newspapers, not glass etc etc. Put the wrong rubbish in the blue bin and it won't be collected. Green bin will now stink cos it only gets collected every other week. Old veg, meat bits if you eat meat, dog poo etc.

Just heard that my Easter (very long planned) Seville tour has gone down the tubes as Swiss have just cancelled their flights there, amongst many others. And I've got tickets to the most difficult to get Bullfight in Spain, the Easter Sunday season-opener, well possed iff (took me 10 years to get them FFS!!!) And well possed iff with the Swiss (not just the airline) in general, not only lost a large chunk of wedge on Swissair, but on some other things as well. Their reliability and honesty is down the drain............
As a good canadian friend of mine said, "a beautiful country,the only problem is the Swiss themselves", a bit harsh but partly true.........

I'm really sorry to hear about your best laid plans being ruined, any chance of rectifying it? Apart from driving down, not really, and probably won't as tht's 4 days less hols...... and my better half is narked as she wanted to see the Semana Santa too. And we'd Cordoba and Grenada booked as an afterthought too.......
Oh well, it'll probably be a week on the beach in Cyprus watching the BUFFs fly over towards the east....

Seriously though I had a great time in switzerland with a swiss mate (though he is a grade A nutter, as are his family and mates, so it might not be a representative sample)...
As I do business there every day it was a HUGE dissappointment to see them throw all their business morals overboard, as they're usually so polite,/exact/correct in everything.
Mostly however they're very good business partners, takes a time to get in, but when you're in you're (ususally) a member of the family...........
And there are a few nutters....... can confirm that!
