Beware - EasyCar rental drivers!

Does anyone find these tend to be driven by people with little road sense? Or Japanese tourists using for tour giudes?

Almost nobbled by one on roundabout near Henley - but due to expecting the unexpected - avoided the dreaded nose chop. Let's hear some experiences.

Was walking through manchester city centre when I heard some rasied engine notes. Turned round to see 2 easyrentacar merc a-class's doing a standing start from a set of lights and racing away down the road! Both cars had 5 people, brought a smile to my face

i my friend rented the A class from Tower Hill Easycar, had 8 miles on the clock when he picked it up, the price was fantastic (£40 for 3 days) but I was wondering why he kept on wanting to find out where the rev limiter was....

I don't mind those drivers as opposed to the blind arse Japanese lady who nearly totalled me! she was pointing in the air to her passenger whilst going round the roundabout (hence me lifting off) . . .

And to think - they drive on the right as well!

Still - could have be anybody . . . we know how people carriers seem to be attracted to TVRs on roundabouts!

has anyone else noticed that about 2/3 of the cars on the motorway are 'europa' (or whatever) rent-a-cars???

or is it just me?

its because they are used when BMW dont work. (slight dig at BMW cos my kept breaking down and thats what i got as a hire car from them.)

Easy car are cheap and come with FULL comprehensive insurance. Still wondering how they can fall into the wrong hands???

Its only a matter of time until we see them being the weapon of choice for trackdays/ the gumball

Can you do that?
I always presumed that when you sign the contract for a hire car it is excluded from track "activities"?

Not sure. I assume they dont mind people doing street racing in them though - have seen LOADS of hire cars being used in brum for this kinda thing. Infact saw a Focus with completely bald front tyres wrapped around a lamp post today.

I doubt the morons who hire these cars and drive like muppets give a damn about what they have signed about it.

Er, no they're not fully insured, BCA. Far from it.

In Mallorca (don't know if its the same here), you have to pay for ANY damage to the car, no matter how minor. And they skin you on tyres (it was about 100 odd Euros for a new 'un). Added to that, the look on the poor bugger's face who'd had his busted into, being told he had to get the glass repaired himself, was a picture. He was far too easy going (or hung over) - I'd have demanded another car, for sure.

And I can't see them making Gumball cars - its only a daily limited mileage contract - you get fined for excess mileage.

Just heard that stellios bloke on the radio say its now fully comp insurance free for no worries driving.

Yeah, They definately are full comp. Seen a few adverts around recently.
